FRACTURE MECHANICS TESTING

Fracture mechanics calculates the relationship between applied loading, environmental factors, the presence of cracks and crack-like defects, and the inherent properties of the material used in components to prevent failure in-service.  Fracture mechanics testing is utilized in the Aerospace, Construction and Power Generation industries, among others.

This has lead to improved designs and safer structures.  Fracture mechanics testing can provide quantitative results regarding the structural integrity of components and can predict crack initiation, crack growth and crack instability.  With our new MTS Fatigue Frames and our Analytical Software, our fracture mechanics testing team is ready to  provide defect analysis, as well as provide recommendations to prevent failure.

With the support of our chemical analysis department, mechanical testing department, state-of-the-art microscopy lab, accelerated weathering and corrosion department and our variety of experts and engineers, knowledgeable in failure analysis and fractography, you get the answers you need, all from one accessible, knowledgeable team.

For information about our fracture mechanics testing services, contact:

Bill DeLaurier (Director of Materials & Product Testing-NY),
Bob Southworth (Mechanical Test Specialist-NY), or
Ron Parrington (President)
