Ed earned a Ph.D. in Oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography (University of California) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brooklyn College. He completed additional graduate course work at Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory, and advanced course work in electron microscopy and failure analysis. Ed has over 22 years of experience in Materials Testing and Failure Analysis, with a specialty in SEM/EDS and electronic failures. He has worked as a Research Associate at the National Marine Fisheries Service; an Assistant Professor and Collection Curator at Cornell University; an Independent Consultant in Fisheries; and an Independent Consultant in Materials Science, Microscopy, and Failure Analysis. Ed’s hobbies include fly fishing/fly tying, scuba diving, kayaking, music, and art.
