George received his Bachelor of Science degree in Metals Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.  He was with Borg Warner Morse TEC Corp for eight years as Senior Engineering Specialist and Supervisor of their metallurgical laboratory, prior to joining IMR Test Labs. 

George’s interests include aviation and aviation history, volunteer firefighter, soccer, and kayaking.

Memberships in Scholarly/Professional Societies and Civic Affiliations:
-ASM International, Twin Tiers Chapter – member and executive committee
-Penn State Alumni Association life member
-Dryden Fire Department – volunteer firefighter, fire captain

Published Papers:
-Member of the ASM Handbook Committee (2000 – 2002) involved in publishing the latest editions of Volume 11: Failure Analysis and   
  Prevention and Volume 21: Composites.

Achievements:
-Awarded “Firefighter of the Year” in 2002 with the Dryden Fire Department.
-Received private pilot certificate in 1993.
