Remmel received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from Southeastern Louisiana University. Mentored by a Register Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineer straight out of college, he completed several courses and seminars including Principles of Failure Analysis, American Society of Metals and Field Metallography: Taking the Laboratory to the Problem, ASM, as well as past inspection experience as a Certified Welding Inspector QCI-98, American Welding Society.
With combined experience in failure analysis totaling over 30 years, Remmel has worked for a number of commercial testing laboratories and conducted many on site investigations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana before moving to Louisville, Kentucky. Remmel’s primary area of expertise is metallurgical and corrosion related failure analysis in the petro-chemical, oil field services and utilities industries but his breadth of experience will often see him address materials problems in a variety of manufacturing settings such as steel and aluminum processing, automotive and fabrication.
Remmel served a number of years as an ASM in Boy Scouts of America and now enjoys spending more time with family and gardening. He has been married to his wife Ruth Ann for 21 years and they have three children, Joel, Luke, and Hannah.
