May 2, 2012 - We are pleased to announce that we have received GE S-400 Approval, as well as successfully passing our A2LA audit.  You can see both certificates on our accreditations page.

May 11, 2011 - IMR Metallurgical Welcomes Jennifer Breetz as Staff Materials Engineer. Jennifer joins IMR with over 7 years of experience working in the Quality Department at Toyota North American Manufacturing headquarters. Her background includes working in the Quality Department Metals and Chemicals groups.  Her material knowledge includes metallurgical (weld, heat treat, metal forming), and corrosion prevention (sealers, coatings, and plating) processes, part quality knowledge, and failure analysis of field and process related issues.  Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and is a member of SAE.
Jennifer will be assisting with metallurgical testing and failure analysis, and her automotive background will greatly enhance our growing corrosion testing lab as IMR Metallurgical expands into a new facility over the next two months.

April 25, 2011 - IMR Test Labs in NY is pleased to announce the addition of a Frontier PY-2020iD Multi-Shot Pyrolyzer to our Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometry capabilities. This addition adds such inlet techniques as Thermal Desoprtion, Pyrolysis, and Evolved Gas Analysis and will greatly expand our ability to analyze for additives, hazardous substances, and contaminants in many materials. December 22, 2010 - IMR KHA - Portland expands Chemistry Department & Nadcap Accreditation
IMR KHA - Portland is now offering ICP Chemical Analysis services as well as Carbon, Sulfur, Oxygen and Nitrogen. This is in addition to OES and Hydrogen analysis which were previously available. We offer in-house Nadcap accredited services on all instruments. Please contact us for more information.

December 15, 2010 - Nadcap accreditation earned for Fatigue Testing at IMR Test Labs in New York.
IMR Test Labs has now earned Nadcap accreditation for High Cycle Fatigue, Low Cycle Fatigue, Fracture Mechanics and XRF analysis of Titanium.  See our new Nadcap certificate here.

December 1, 2010 - New York Lab Increases Capacity with additional 22 kip MTS Fatigue Frame

November 10, 2010 - Ron Parrington, PE, FASM Awarded Fellowship to ASM.  Ron was presented with a certificate recognizing his Fellowship with ASM in October of 2010 at MS&T. His citation is for providing "leadership in materials characterization and substantial contributions to materials education through mentoring, teaching and support to ASM." Everyone at IMR Test Labs extends their congratulations to Ron on his achievement

October 6, 2010 - IMR Test Labs now offering chromium testing to Pakistan Surgical Instruments to FDA Import Alert 76-01.

IMR KHA - Portland today celebrated their 40th year of providing the Aerospace, Medical Device, Nuclear, and other industries with high quality materials analysis services. As a part of the celebration, a large Open House was held to showcase the recently remodeled facility and to thank our many customers, both old and new, for their continued support of the growth of our company.

June 26, 2009 - IMR KHA - Portland announces the successful addition of Hydrogen Determination to their Nadcap Accreditation
IMR KHA - Portland announced today that they have added a new service for the determination of Hydrogen in Alloys by ASTM E1447 to their list of Nadcap Accredited services. The addition of this method is a part of our active expansion plan to provide the best possible service to our many clients.

June 8, 2009 - IMR Announces the initiation of new Phthalate Testing services.
IMR Test Labs announced today that, after extensive methods development, our new Phthalate Testing services are now commercially available. Designed in support of the CPSIA and other Hazardous Substance regulations, these services permit the quantitative analysis of up to seven different phthalates in PVC and other plastics.  Detection limits are well below the restriction limits found in these regulations. April 1, 2009 - IMR Announces that Tom Ackerson, PE, has joined IMR Test Labs Charleston as Laboratory Director.
IMR Test Labs is pleased to announce that Tom Ackerson has joined IMR as Lab Director at IMR-Charleston. Tom comes to IMR with over twenty years experience as a failure analyst, metallurgist and engineer. He most recently served as Director of Engineering Sciences for MME (Metals & Materials Engineers, LLC), an engineering and consulting metallurgical group in Birmingham, Alabama. Tom holds a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from Averett College. He currently serves as Committee Secretary on the ASM Failure Analysis Committee and is affiliated with a number of professional organizations including SAE International, IMS, and NACE. As Lab Director for IMR-Charleston, Tom’s duties will include overall management of the Charleston facility, development and growth of the Charleston customer base, and contribution of his scientific and professional talents to the IMR Charleston lab. Tom will report to Ron Parrington. Melissa Gainey, Lab Manager IMR-Charleston will report to Tom. He joins the IMR team as of April 1, 2009. We are excited to have Tom join the leadership team at IMR and we look forward to his success in his new role with our company.

March 18, 2009 - IMR announces that it has successfully been ITAR Registered
IMR Test Labs has successfully applied for and been granted ITAR registration. This corporate-wide registration allows all IMR locations to handle sensitive work which requires restricted access and secure handling of data. Believed to be one of the first labs to be registered, this new feature allows IMR to better serve our customers with ITAR restricted test requirements. February 19, 2009 - IMR accredited to perform lead testing by CPSIA
IMR Test Labs has successfully been accredited by the Consumer Product Safety Commission to analyze lead in paint (January 2009) and in childrens metal jewelry (February 2009). Based on our long history of analyzing products for hazardous substances and our well known chemical analysis capabilities, IMR was able to add these services to our existiing ISO 17025 Accreditation from A2LA and then to have these accreditations accepted by the CPSC in support of their efforts to enforce the new rules under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) passed in 2008 by Congress. Our well equiped laboratory (with three ICP-AES instruments, backed by X-ray Fluorescence) and large, highly trained staff uniquely position IMR to be able to support our client's needs in certifying the safety of their products quickly and cost effectively. February 1, 2008 - IMR Test Labs aquires the operations of Koon-Hall-Adrian Metallurgical of Portland, Oregon
IMR Test Labs is pleased to announce that, as of February 1, 2008, it has acquired the operations of Koon-Hall-Adrian Metallurgical of Portland Oregon. The acquisition of KHA is considered to be a vital next step in IMR's expansion of service offerings and locations. Says Joseph Springer, CEO of IMR, "One of the main things that made KHA attractive to IMR is the long history the KHA team has of offering high quality services to their customers".
