Salt spray testing is used to check corrosion resistance of coatings and metallic materials. Unfortunately there is no direct correlation between exposure hours in the chamber and real world conditions since corrosion is comprised of many factors, but salt spray testing is a good tool for evaluating corrosion resistance.

There are a wide range of salt spray testing methods designed help you to evaluate the performance of your materials.  Our laboratories in Ithaca, NY and Louisville, KY have numerous chambers available.

IMR also offers services including taber abrasion, coating weights, microscopy and optional inspections and photographs that are often required with common salt fog testing specifications.
